Herne Bay Festival will be taking place this year from Saturday 22nd to Sunday 30th August, with Continental Drifts managing the festival for the second time. This year’s theme is Victorian, and the festival will be celebrating Herne Bay’s vibrant Victorian heritage with an exciting nine-day programme of over 60 free events! Expect to see loads of great events run by the people of Herne Bay including arts workshops, crab catching competitions, and discos.
A mixture of community and arts events take place across the week, alongside the traditional flagship events, the Lantern Parade will once again open the festival on Saturday 22nd and Herne Bay Rocks (a rock competition for adults) runs throughout the week.
Herne Bay Live takes place on the evening of Saturday 29th, featuring the winners of Herne Bay Rocks, Herne Bay’s Got Talent and the Music Stage, with the incredible Gino Washington and The Ram Jam Band headlining the Clock Tower Plaza, followed by the eagerly awaited fireworks display from Neptune’s Arm.
Herne Bay in Bloom will bring the festival to a wonderful, community filled close on Sunday with the annual Giant Picnic; there will be so much happening throughout the week!
